Given the unfolding situation relating to Covid-19 and its recent classification as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, we thought it was important that we provide you with an update concerning our business, and the precautionary measures we are taking particularly in relation to our School Tours program.

Currently there are no changes to production and supply of our products, and we will work to ensure continued supply to our customers. The dairy is running at regular capacity, with adequate plans in place to continue production in the coming months. We have strict food quality and safety practises in place and these efforts are as uncompromising now as they always have been.

Our first priority is to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our staff, stakeholders and their families. Any staff or family members who are feeling unwell are being asked to get themselves checked, and arrangements are being made to support staff working from home. We have also implemented a number of precautionary measures designed to protect all of our extended Brownes family:

  • Suspending all interstate and international travel;
  • Suspending our attendance at events;
  • Limiting customer & supplier visits to the dairy and encouraging teleconferencing;
  • Making additional sanitisation products and antibacterial spray stations available;
  • Having temperature checks readily available for staff & visitors feeling unwell; and
  • Providing regular updates and information as required to help staff and their families better protect themselves.

In the interest of safety for our staff, but more importantly for the thousands of children that come through our doors on our School Tours program, we will also be suspending upcoming School Tours until further notice.

If your school currently has a tour booked we will be in touch with you to reschedule in the coming days and weeks. While this is a difficult decision for us to take, based on what we know about how Coronavirus is spread, we have decided this is the right course of action.

We will provide further updates as necessary and as information becomes available. If your children have already been on a tour this year, please note that no Brownes Staff have tested positive to Coronavirus to date.

On behalf of all of us here at Brownes Dairy, please stay safe, healthy and look after one another.
